I was going through my archives the other day and came across this shot from last winter. It’s one of my favourites.
A trumpeter swan tells the story of the fish that got away: ‘It was this big!’ Trumpeter swans are being reintroduced to Ontario. This one was spotted at the foot of York Street, near Harbourfront.
How these birds can even swim in lake water in winter is beyond me. They certainly have less fat on their little legs than I do, and yet I wouldn’t even be able to dip a toe in the water for more than five seconds! Shot at Harbourfront, at the foot of York Street.
While taking pictures at Harbourfront one lunch hour, several pigeons started flying right past me. I managed to capture this one as he swept past about two feet from me.
