Great Blue Heron on a Rock
This Great Blue Heron was my nemesis for most of the summer. On several occasions our paths crossed; it was either swooping by far too close to me or standing in reeds on the far side of the lake too far away for my zoom lens. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I stalked this large bird at Richmond Green park, and at one point managed to get within 40 feet of it. In photography, patience and perseverance eventually pay off.
